I have to play 365 catch up like crazy! I am really a few weeks behind in posting here on my blog. This week, week 31 is mostly digital.  But a few weeks coming up will be all film.  This week has images from the beach in RI to Bread and Puppet in VT.  Summer in New England really is amazing! I shot these images with my Microcord Twin Lens Reflex.  But  my camera was totally not cooperating.  First it wouldn’t focus, then it was skipping frames, and then it just stopped advancing totally.  I sent the roll in for processing anyway, but wrote a whole long letter on the back of the form asking them to call me after processing before scanning.  I wasn’t sure I wanted to pay for the images to be scanned. Week 30 is a week of film at the beach! (and the river, but in water!!) All of the images here,with the exception of the children in the sunflowers, were shot with the Nikonos V with Portra 400 film.  The sunflower image was photographed with my digital camera and the Petzval Lens with the star key. Week 29 Thank you all so much for following along with this project! I have found this 365 both challenging and rewarding! I was so looking forward to summer and our time in the waters. We are all big fans of being in and around water, pool, river, lake, brook, pond, ocean, bath tub, hose spray, it is all good! This week all but one image is shot on film. Week 28 Time is flying, we are in the thick of summer. This week I spent two days photographing Two Coyotes Wilderness School Camp while Meadow and her friends enjoyed a week of camp. Five of these images were shot using film. The first two and the last three. The first two were shot using my Nikonos V, the color is Portra 400 the black and white is Ilford Super XP2 400 speed film. I had originally intended to only use this lens on my Nikon F2 Film Camera.  Since it is a replica of a very old lens, I though it only fitting to me used on a film camera.  But yesterday, in the rain, in Vermont, I decided to give it a go on my digital camera.  This lens has a huge learning curve, and it is HEAVY and you can only focus it in manual with a little twist screw.  It actually is easier to focus it with the F2 because that camera is made to use manual focus and has a handy split screen toRead More →

The July Twelve Portraits Prompt is Atmospheric integration – wind, rain, snow, water – splashing. Some of my all time favorite things, and this time of the year we are all about water! Playing in any type of water from rain, to river, to splash park, to pool to lakes and ocean….. I have been using my Microcord TLR Camera for a few months now, and while I have been doing quite a bit of double exposure images with this camera, I have also done some straight shooting.  I find it very hard to get a nice sharp image while hand holding (or having it slung around my neck) the camera, but am getting pretty good at getting a nice sharp image while using a tripod. Week 27 The endless days of summer are here! Trips to lakes and rivers and the ocean. Frog catching. Film. A turtle named Myrtle, Trips to the carousel…..
