These images were all created on an afternoon nature walk on the land by our home.  Created using a tag sale SX-70 camera and some expired Impossible Project Film.  It was COLD COLD out!  I slipped each image into my light tight film changing bag…  But they still got pretty cold.  And the film is expired….   Now I just need an endless supply of Impossible Project Film….  no biggie! Read More →

Feathered, is a project Lili Love and I have decided to work on together. It is a weekly post of a feather image apiece, created by two friends living 3,370 miles (and a large, North Atlantic Ocean, pond apart)   We first connected years ago when we became Secret Santa partners in a little exchange arranged by wonderful photographers who had all taken the same workshops.  I really feel it was destiny for us to have been paired up.  From our wild children and love of nature we have a lot of similar images…  but it has come to our attention that really, we haveRead More →

Continuing on with the Impossible Project film.  This is my second round of images.  The color images are all from expired SX-70 film, all images created with a vintage SX-70 camera found at a tag sale. I tried using a flash pack with these black and white images of Meadow with her antlers inside, both in and out of a little patch of sunshine.  They are cropped square, but were shot with the same format film as the color.  The image of the cameras on the shelf also were made using flash cubes. Read More →

What started as an idea for a fuji mini 365 project with a group of photographers, has turned into a bit of an obsession with The Impossible Project and instant film.  This is the first batch of images I have created with a vintage Polaroid SX-70 camera, and Impossible Project Film.  I love them all for their little quirks and beauty.   Sx-70 black and white film, indoor, tripod Silver Frame, Expired SX-70 film, outside in the cold, and inside with a flash light for light. I have a few more posts to put up with Impossible Film images.  This was my first few imagesRead More →

The wildflower meadow is still so beautiful this time of year!  The colors are so beautiful, I just love the muted natural tones.  For this family the tones and lighting was just perfect!  And what a sweet sweet family, I loved every minute with these sweet people! A shoot like this really brings the importance of photography home to me. These kids are just about the same spacing as my children, and looking back, I so so so wish I had images like this of my little ones when they were small.  I had taken a photography hiatus when mine were littles, and I neverRead More →

It is always very exciting to hear that your work has been accepted into a juried show at a gallery.  Mermaid (above) and Meadow In The Middle At Sunrise (Also called Swan Lake) were both accepted into the Open Theme exhibit at A Smith Gallery.  When I clicked on the link to see all of the 60 pieces accepted into the show, I was very presently surprised to see that Mermaid also was awarded an Honorable Mention!  The work in this show is really outstanding, the link is below if you would like to see all of the images that will be in the show.Read More →

Hurrah! It is scan day!  For a film photographer that can me like a birthday that happens often, and is SO exciting!  You just love to get that email that says your scans are ready!  This blog is of two rolls I shot in Maine in September.  The first set of images are from my Microcord TLR film camera. Accidental Double Exposure…  But I love how her one eye is totally in focus.  Sometimes accidents are amazing.  “We don’t make mistakes, just happy little accidents.” ― Bob Ross This second batch of images were made using my Mamiya RZ67 camera.  It’s giant, but I love it anyway.Read More →

Babies are such a nice way to start people. Don Herold Navya has just arrived to the neighborhood!  I love her already!  She lives across the street from us, and I can tell from one short visit, that she is a perfect addition to their home.  Such a beauty!  Her hair!  Her long fingers and tiny toes!  That yawn!  Swoon!!  I love it – I love it – the laugh of a child, Now rippling and gentle, now merry and wild; Ringing out on the air with its innocent gush, Like the trill of a bird in the twilight’s soft hush; Floating up on theRead More →

This year Meadow and I went alone to The Common Ground Fair in Unity Maine.  She had a booth in the youth area of the fair on Friday.  But at night, at our cabin on Swan Lake in Swanville Maine, we made campfires. The fire in the bottom image makes a Unicorn, horn, face and eye!  Can you see?  I love to think we had a fire Unicorn watching over us in our little cabin all alone!  Surprisingly I do not have tons of images from the fair!  I captured moments of Meadow at her booth (Meadow Rain Creations) with my phone, but I leftRead More →

It is International Peace Day… But Peace is so much more than a beautiful peace sign made out of flowers…(made and posted by us on IG this morning)  And especially with all that is going on in the world (now, and always) We need a day to really reflect on what Peace means, what Peace feels like, what the world could be if we all embraced the concept of Peace in our hearts. Lets bring on the Peace! (all images created with vintage cameras on film) Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can’t help them, at least don’t hurt them.Read More →
